Joy Buchman is a trauma-informed counselor who has devoted the second half of her life to bringing healing to hurting women. Joy uses her own childhood and relationship difficulties, along with everyday life situations, to relate to women and help them see Jesus working in their lives. She helps women see the possibility of hope and healing on the other side of their pain and difficulties.
Many women struggle with deep hurts and find it difficult to forgive those deep wounds caused by others in their lives. This unforgiveness separates us from God and harms our relationships with family and friends. Because Scripture tells us in Matthew 6:14, “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Joy has a heart to not only show women why forgiving from the heart is necessary, but she also teaches them a practical process to do it, leading them to let go of past offenses and receive deep healing from wounds long carried.
When Joy isn’t on stage, she has a private practice where she engages in one-on-one therapy with children and adults. When she is home, she relaxes with her 80-pound Labradoodle, Beau, who thinks he is a lap dog! She also enjoys supporting her local minor league baseball team, the La Crosse Loggers, whenever she gets the chance.
